Reports to: Store Manager / Assistant Manager

Aguilar’s Meat Market is seeking a motivated and reliable Meat Department Team Leader to help oversee daily operations, support team members, and ensure the highest standards of quality, cleanliness, and customer service in our meat department. This leadership role is for someone passionate about fresh food, teamwork, and community. Ideal for: Someone stepping into leadership for the first time.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and assist butchers and meat clerks in daily tasks.
• Maintain proper rotation, labeling, and freshness of all meat products.
• Ensure meat displays are clean, well-stocked, and visually appealing.
• Uphold strict food safety and sanitation standards.
• Provide guidance and coaching to team members on cutting, packaging, and customer service.
• Communicate with management about inventory, product needs, and staffing.
• Assist in training new team members.
• Address customer questions or concerns with professionalism and care.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a meat department or food service environment preferred.
• Leadership or supervisory experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of meat cuts, preparation, and safe handling practices.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a bonus.
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and a team-first attitude.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
