Full Stack Software Engineer

AgZen’s mission is to make agrochemical spraying more efficient and eliminate pesticide waste. Our patented retrofits allow farmers to spray up to 50% less agrochemicals while improving pest/disease control, crop health, and yield. We are a vibrant startup based in Boston, Massachusetts, and we are committed to helping farmers save money and preventing the over-spraying of agrochemicals. AgZen is venture-backed, has raised over $3.5M of capital, and was awarded over $600K in prizes and awards from prestigious competitions like the MIT 100K and the Rice business plan competition.

We are looking for a sharp, tenacious, and creative Full Stack Software Engineer to help develop AgZen’s sensing and software products. You will own and contribute to developing our software platforms and interact heavily with our world-class engineering team to build technology that can help farmers make agrochemical spraying more efficient.

Note: This position is available to be filled immediately, with the latest start date being November 1st, 2024. This role is located in Somerville, MA (Boston area) with work required to be in-person.

What you will do:

• Build scalable infrastructure to store, process, and visualize data gathered from field operations
• Develop customer-facing interfaces on web-based and mobile devices
• Develop our CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure for our ML ops
• Collaborate with field engineers on designing, building and maintaining an engaging user interface
• Support the deployed systems by troubleshooting issues, analyzing logs, and ensuring an overall smooth operation for customers.
• Leverage Python (NumPy, OpenCV, Matplotlib, Pandas) to develop new features for both internal and field use.
• Assist with dataset curation pipeline for machine learning model training

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Advanced Degree in Computer Science or related field
• 2 years of work experience writing Python code (NumPy, OpenCV, Matplotlib, Plotly, etc)
• Experienced with modern front-end web frameworks (e.g., React, Angular)
• Experienced working with both SQL and NoSQL databases
• Experience with Python and AWS
• Experience working with systems that use perception and ML frameworks is a plus.
• Adept with Linux/Unix and scripting languages like shell scripting, etc. 
• Familiarity with web server technologies like Apache
• Experience with real-time systems is a plus
