Description

PRIMARY FUNCTION: This position offers an excellent opportunity for students or early-career individuals to gain exposure to all facets of our operations. Under the guidance of experienced professionals, you will learn to operate manual machines, create basic details, read blueprints, assist in the assembly of components, and much more.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodations. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Other duties may be assigned

  • Assist in the setup and operation of manual machining equipment, including lathes, mills, and grinders.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and blueprints to manufacture components.
  • Support tool and die makers in fabricating, assembling, and repairing precision details.
  • Perform basic machine maintenance, cleaning, and calibration tasks.
  • Measure and inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges).
  • Follow workplace safety guidelines and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize production efficiency.
  • Work collaboratively with manufacturing teams to support production goals.

Requirements

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Currently enrolled in or recently completed a technical school, vocational program, or college in Manufacturing, Machining, Tool & Die, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Basic knowledge of machining processes and tools is preferred but not required.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in hands-on work.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • Willingness to learn, take initiative, and work in a team environment.
  • Basic understanding of workplace safety protocols.
  • Familiarity with CNC programming and G-code is a plus.
  • Experience with hand tools and machine shop equipment.
  • Ability to solve problems and think critically in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • May be exposed to dust, debris, chemicals, and noise from operating machines.
  • Standard physical hazards from moving equipment & machine parts.
  • Standard industrial and manufacturing working conditions.
  • May be required to lift up to 50 lbs. and climb ladders
