PRIMARY FUNCTION: The Workholding Supervisor is a hands-on, direct labor position, that also serves as a team leader. The Supervisor will play a vital role in building high-quality workholding fixtures while overseeing the daily assembly and inspection operations of the department.

Workholding Fixture Assembly
- Builds high-quality, custom workholding fixtures, assists others as necessary.
- Oversees daily assembly operations in the Workholding department.
- Monitors workholding projects and ensures all necessary resources are provided to the assembly team; monitors project budgets.
- Communicates with Project Engineers and stakeholders across all departments; acts as a first point of contact for all workholding projects.
- Controls allocation and use of personnel to ensure milestones and On-Time Delivery dates are met.
- Attends design reviews and project status meetings related to workholding jobs.
- Directs and approves requisitions for materials & components.
- Monitors direct and indirect labor hours for the Workholding Department and makes adjustments accordingly.
- Provides input to Sales and Applications Engineers on concepts & costing as needed
Quality & Inspection
- Champions the quality and delivery of workholding fixtures; creates and sustains an environment of high-quality operations.
- Seeks opportunity for continuous improvement; implements processes to eliminate waste and increase efficiency.
- Conducts inspections and validations of workholding fixtures to ensure products meet customer specifications before being shipped.
- Oversees and assigns daily inspection work.
- Communicates quality issues and initiates corrective actions.
- Collaborates with the Director of Quality to oversee and administer the internal ISO audit program; conducts internal audits.
- Collaborates with Manufacturing Manager and Director of Quality to ensure proper calibration of all inspection equipment.
- Provides feedback to stakeholders on lessons learned during assembly and inspection of workholding fixtures
- Drives continuous improvement within the Workholding department
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED
- 10 years in manufacturing, job shop environment preferred
- 10 years in fabrication/assembly; hydraulic workholding fixtures preferred
- 10 years reading blueprints and drawings
- 10 years in Quality/Inspection
- 10 years working with ISO 9001 and similar systems
- ERP familiarity, Epicor a plus
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Typical non-production manufacturing environment
- Light exposure to noise, dust, debris, and chemicals
- May be required to lift up to 50 lbs.
- May be required to climb stairs and ladders
