What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Supervisor position at Ahead Human Resources?
This position is responsible for directing, leading, supervising and performing required duties at a manufacturing facility in Marissa, Illinois. It is a swing shift, 2,2,3 with a 3-day weekend every other week. Shift will rotate day/night on a monthly schedule. There is a $2.50 shift differential while working nights.
This job requires strong analytical and technical abilities and demands fast, but carefully thought-out results. Strong leadership and control of the work process from beginning to end is necessary. The job centers around developing new ideas, systems and technology, and analyzing and improving old ones. A high level of expertise is expected and the ability to spot and correct errors is important. Work must be done right and quickly, while always focusing on accomplishing the goal and demanding the highest quality work from co-workers and subordinates. Interest and energy focus primarily on the work at hand, with negligible inclination for small talk or social involvement. The broad scope of the job demands a factual, direct and authoritative style of communication. Decision-making, though swift, is very calculated and singular, with little reliance on consensus or collaborating opinions.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Position may involve performing other duties as required, which may not be mentioned below. Specific functions may change from time to time.
A. Oversee all operations of the plant including Safety, Preventative Maintenance, OEE, Production, Production Task Scheduling, Shipping, Housekeeping and Quality Control for their assigned shift.
B. Coach, teach, train and mentor all subordinates to help improve operation of the plant. This includes cross training for all employees, so they can operate in all positions.
C. Perform subordinate 90 day/annual evaluations with the approval of the Plant and Production Manager.
D. Help develop and improve training programs for all the positions in the plant.
E. Ensure all rules and policies of the plant are followed.
F. Ensure all governmental regulations are adhered to.
G. Learn, follow and promote all safety regulations of the company and its customers.
H. Communicate clearly, listen and understand information through spoken words and sentences to ensure full comprehension of job duties, safety regulations, and other situations that may require an immediate response.
I. Work weekends, holiday, and/or overtime when needed.
J. Perform other duties as assigned by the Production Manager.

J. Be able to concentrate in noisy settings around large construction vehicles.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING
A. Working knowledge of materials, methods and procedures involved in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
B. General knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance.
C. Previous work-related skills, knowledge and/or experience are required.
D. Minimum of High School diploma or equivalent. Some college/ technical training preferred.
E. Excellent communication and organizational skills.
