The Director, Specialist Solutions Engineering will be responsible for the day-to-day management of AHEAD's mid-market Specialist Solutions Engineers and presales managers while also setting strategic technical direction for the team. The Specialist Solutions Engineers are technical experts who collaborate with our AHEAD Account Teams to help identify, qualify, and build solutions that support our customers' Digital Business in the cloud.
Duties and Responsibilities - Manage a team of 6 - 8 cross-functional Specialist Solutions Engineers
- Present AHEAD's value proposition to AHEAD's mid-market customers and strategic partners.
- Collaborate with the AHEAD SVP, Mid-Market Sales and mid-market Client Directors to assist in developing and executing sales plays leveraging our Specialist Solutions Engineers and services portfolio.
- Provide ongoing coaching and professional development to the team to enhance their solution knowledge, technical acumen, and presales skill sets.
- Oversee the career development of the Specialist Solutions Engineers, including external training and internal career roadmaps.
- Build relationships with key partners and their field leadership teams.
- Foster and maintain key relationships with customer stakeholders and project sponsors.
- Manage key performance metrics to track the progress of each Specialist Solutions Engineer and presales manager.
- Develop processes to leverage AHEAD's key distribution partner's SE teams for burst capacity to run campaigns and assist with proposal and quote generation for opportunities.
- Oversee AHEAD's internal config / quote desk function.
- Collaborate consistently with the Delivery Directors on the progress of sold engagements and maintain a feedback loop with the Specialist Solutions Engineers to ensure continuity between presales, delivery, and the customer.
- 3 - 5 years of experience successfully managing and building teams of technical sales professionals.
- Highly knowledgeable in key technologies AHEAD supports, with at least 3 - 5 years of hands-on experience.
- Results-oriented with strong interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable presenting to customers at the executive level.
- Ability to tie technology back to solving business needs and outcomes.
- Skilled at motivating others to achieve results.
- Strong team player with the ability to collaborate effectively with partners.
- Customer-focused and able to work within customer deadlines.
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.

The compensation range indicated in this posting reflects the On-Target Earnings ("OTE") for this role, which includes a base salary and any applicable target bonus amount. This OTE range may vary based on the candidate's relevant experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
