Reporting to the Shipping Manager, the Material Handler is responsible for transporting, staging, loading, cycle counting, sorting, and delivering all finished goods and raw materials. The Material Handler must verify accuracy of the product before shipping (correct carton count, SKU #, labeling, etc.), and verify accuracy of inbound raw materials (correct material #, size, footage, labeling, etc.)

Job Duties
- Always follow all safety guidelines in order to eliminate accidental injury.
- Maintain property, plant, and equipment to support and improve the safe production and performance of operations.
- Participate in Continuous Improvement and provide suggestions to improve processes and participate in team projects.
- Assist in battery station maintenance.
- Perform forklift PMs and daily checks. Report any problems to supervisor.
- Change battery/propane canisters as needed.
- Pull finished goods from staging area verifying material has passed QC check and ready to ship to the customer.
- Verify all labeling for the product being shipped (i.e., production tag should match carton, product label, and carton count). Product should be palletized correctly and in the correct carton.
- Safely load outbound trailers according to product type.
- Place all raw materials and packaging (plywood, boxes, labels, foam, stain, etc.) in the correct designated area. Consult with management team or supervisor if questions arise.
- Maintain accurate levels of shipping supplies and advise supervisor when supplies need to be ordered.
- Unload pallets as needed at the back of plant.
- All dock areas should be clean/cleared daily by the end of the shift.
- Inbound raw material should be placed in the correct row and indicated as “inventory ready”.
- Inbound raw materials should be verified for accuracy before being placed as production ready, this includes matching correct material number, square footage, inventory location, etc. Any discrepancies are to be reported to department staff.
- All finished goods scanned to proper staging locations before loading and communicate with department personnel so orders can be created.
- All LTL deliveries must be signed for and verified as accurate by the person unloading the material. Any discrepancies need to be directed to department staff.
- All UPS, Fed Ex, and any other parcel deliveries are to be checked in, verified against packing slip, sorted, and delivered to the appropriate area or person. Damage or discrepancies should be reported to department staff.
- Safely operate/maneuver semi/yard truck when pulling in/out loaded trailers and empty trailers.
- Maintain assigned semi/yard truck (fuel needs, tires, battery needs, etc.)
- Stage trailers for loading/unloading of material(s) according to production needs.
- Perform daily cycle counts.
- Operator onboard tablet for inventory control/accuracy.
- Assist in other departments where forklift(s) are needed.
- Perform any other tasks as assigned.
- Must be able to successfully complete and pass a background check, employment verification and drug screening.
- Positive and Verifiable Work History.
- Frequently push, pull, carry, and lift up to 50lbs.
