Area Manager Central and South Texas

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Area Manager to join our team at AHI. This role is essential in supporting the director of operations to ensure the smooth operation of our janitorial and facility services. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, the ability to multitask, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of customer satisfaction.

The area manager will be responsible for the following :

Build and grow the area (10 locations) and organization with an entrepreneurial mindset
Be able to anticipate account needs, deliver on those needs and exceed expectations.
Identify opportunities and solve deficiencies before they become long term issues.
Ability to adapt and pivot at a moment's notice in a fast paced and demanding environment.
Being knowledgeable on current trends within the custodial / janitorial industry
Establish effective communication channels with customers and client management, which provides feedback on the operation's overall success. This feedback should lead to the implementation of operational improvements that better meet the needs of both clients and customers
Set goals for your locations, project managers, supervisors, staff and developing organizational capability

Culture and Influence

Be a motivator and mentor, someone who can guide the management team in the area and develop their talent

Ability to effectively communicate, motivate and interact with all levels within the organization to help build and speak to the culture of AHI

Creating and developing relationships with clients, other department leads and individuals

Meet and greet our amazing clients and have a direct impact on our rapidly growing organization

Candidate Experience

To perform this job successfully, the ideal Area Manager candidate will have been successful as a Manager, Area Manager, Operations Manager and have over 3 years of multi-unit management experience in a service-based industry.

He / She would have experience managing complex operations with P&L, headcount, safety programs and growth accountability

Must be compassionate, consistent, and fair to the needs of the employee and of the company

Must possess strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills

Must be detail oriented, organized, able to work independently, prioritize and multitask

Must be willing to contribute and support your team with a hands-on approach to our operations

Ability to work a full-time schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays, if necessary.

Must demonstrate a commitment to the AHI business and client satisfaction

Strong working knowledge in custodial and janitorial industry

Key Accountabilities

Maintain an effective safety program in multiple locations

Adhere to company programs (Creativity, Safety and Standards and Workers Compensation)

Maintains guidelines throughout all areas and maintains client’s service contract

Ability to provide excellent service standards throughout the area

Plan, identify, communicate, and delegate key responsibilities and practices to each management team to ensure a smooth flow of operations within the area of up to 10 locations

Oversee area-wide operations and execute district and regional initiatives including hiring, training, sales growth, and employee development

Lead and maintain safety as a priority for all employees, customers, and clients at unit level

Physical Demands & Work Environment

Work up to 10 hours a day on your feet, excluding breaks

Come to work professionally dressed according to AHI dress code

Employee must be able to work under pressure and time deadlines during peak periods

Position requires 50% extensive travel to visit client locations in the area

The work requires some physical exertion such as long periods both indoors and outdoors while remaining stationary, traversing spaces, repositioning to reach and use tools, and moving a minimum of 50 lbs. assisted or unassisted.

Education and Experience :

Associate's or Bachelor's degree is preferred.

Proven experience in a leadership or management role within a service industry for at least 2 years.

Bilingual (Preferred)
