Accountant

Location: 2800 North Gordon Street, Alvin, TX 77511
Pay Rate: $65,000 - $80,000 (depending on experience)

Position Overview

The accountant position is responsible for ensuring financial entries are recorded correctly to the general ledger to ensure accurate financial reporting. This involves reviewing, reconciling and compiling records and reports.

Key Responsibilities:

• Reconcile accounts to reports.
• Daily reconciliation of bank statements.
• Process new vendor setup requests.
• Prepare and enter journal entries.
• Perform the month-end and year-end close process.
• Prepare monthly reports.
• Provide support in the accurate production of budgets.
• Provide backup support for Accounts Payable.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Work Schedule & Overtime:

• Full-time, exempt salary position
• Standard work hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Qualifications & Skills:

• Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures and principles.

• Accuracy and attention to detail.
• Must be able to consistently meet deadlines.
• Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills.

• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills both oral and written.
• Proficiency in using spreadsheets and accounting software.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent work experience.
• 3-5 years of accounts payable and general accounting experience.
• Confidentiality is required.

401(k) Plan:

• Eligible after 1 year of service (must be 21 or older).
• Employer matches 100% of deferrals up to 3% of compensation.
