The candidate will have responsibility for achievement of quality, rate of operation, safety, cost, maintenance and enviromental objectives of the Fiber Department, which includes managing maintenance and capital projects and developing department relaibility improvement plans. The Engineer will identify process and mechanical reliability areas of opportunity, implement creative solutions, support process control activities, and manage projects, as well as develop overall long-term capital plans and support operations.
Assistant Fiber Manager responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Must follow Ahlstrom manufacturing and hygiene processes, procedures and policies, as applicable, to the position’s areas of responsibility, in order to meet and maintain the safety, quality, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Deliver results by setting goals and tracking with key performance indicators for the Fiber department
- Drive operations and drive process improvement.
- Provide crews with needed equipment and training resources; provide guidance to foster individual growth.
- Respond to department requests for changes in existing systems/equipments to modify/enhance the system/equipment to obtain desired results in a safe and cost effective manner.
- Responsible for productivity, quality, efficiency, cost control, compliance and housekeeping.
- Participate in the weekend duty rotation to provide support for facility operations during weekends and holidays.
- Provide support and back-up for the process/mechanical engineers in other areas.
- Assess processes for effectiveness and help to implement improvements.
- Provide requested services while meeting safety codes, specifications and budgetary limitations.
- Support efforts of maintenance to troubleshoot problems.
- All other assignments assigned by management
