We are seeking a CAT Operator at our Thilmany Mill in Kaukauna.

Main Responsibilities:
- Operators primary responsibility is to operate a bulldozer to assure an uninterrupted supply of chips to the pulp mill digesters.
- Assist as needed in the woodyard, i.e. cleaning chip belts, etc.
- Responsibility for couplin/decoupling rail cars, throwing switches, derails, placing blue flags around the woodyard and safely directing the movement of rail cars
- Must be able to learn to operate the wood room when required and accomplish general cleanup duties in the wood yard, wood room, crane shed, and along the chip belts
- Must be able to learn to operate other heavy equipment when required including, but not limited to; tow motors, tractors, Bobcats, mobile log loaders, bulldozers, and rail car movers.
- Must follow Ahlstrom’s manufacturing and hygiene processes, procedures and policies, as applicable to the position’s areas of responsibility, in order to meet and maintain the safety, quality, and regulatory compliance requirements for each grade of paper.
- Work in a team and assist operators in all areas of production
- Work with a high regard for safety of yourself and others and participate in safety improvements throughout the facility
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Ability to successfully pass a post-offer drug screen
- Ability to work rotating 8-hour shifts on a southern swing rotation. We do not have any straight shift openings.
- Overtime is required and built in to the schedule rotation
- Ability to work well with a team
- Must be a safety-conscious person due to the many potential hazards associated with the operation of heavy equipment
- Physical Requirements include:
- Perform heavy work, defined as lifting 100 lb. maximum with help, with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 50 lbs
- Perform work while wearing a supplied air respirator (dependent on department)
- Work around fast-moving machinery
- Work at heights
- Willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions
