Purpose:
This position plays an important role in maintaining and improving the facility’s health, safety, and environmental programs, policies, and procedures. This position serves as a liason between both the PA and SC facilities and collaborates on all HSE related efforts and iniatives.
- Assist in coordinating HS&E activities across the plant and collaborate with the PA HSE team on company programs and initiatives.
- Conduct behavior and condition based audits each month.
- Lead or participate in accident investigations and act as a resource to insure follow-up actions are thorough and complete.
- Assist in maintaining recordkeeping systems for the plant including monthly incident statistics, injury trend data and corrective action and audit follow-up.
- Insure that Regulatory Training Programs and Plant Procedures are consistent with regulatory and company requirements.
- Educate and coach HSE topics for the departments.
- Address day to day HS&E issues.
- Develop and maintain HS&E communications, awareness and incentive programs, i.e. posters, bulletins, graphs, rewards, etc.
- Insure that HS&E issues are communicated and support the departments to resolve issues
- Participate on Divisional Health and Safety Lead Team
- Promote HS&E awareness, procedures, and rules and regulations.
- Develop and implement classroom HS&E training.
- Conduct monthly safety meeting presentations.
- Assist in HS&E audits and hazard reviews of new or modified equipment/processes.
- Active member of HSE Steering Committee.
- Special issues/projects; other duties as assigned
- Must be able to train and develop new and current employees
Education, Technical Knowledge, Experience and Skill Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Associates Degree in Safety or related field or Professional Safety Certification preferred.
- 3-5 years experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Working knowledge of OSHA standards and regulations.
- Working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Programs.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety.
- Ability to effectively respond and to be accessible in the event of emergency situations.
- Good oral, written, and presentation skills are essential.
- Initiative to help reconcile breakdowns/issues and to seek opportunities for improvement.
- Ability to conduct and participate in leadership and team development activities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time and self starter.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to travel to customers, suppliers or other locations as needed.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Long hours, long weeks, trials that goes into night shifts with flexible hours to accommodate customers and machine schedules.
- Position is not remote nor hybird therefore working hands-on with operators to demonstrate proper machine procedures.
