We are looking for a Plant Engineer at our Madisonville, KY facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Adhere to all safety policies, OSHA regulations, ISO1400, QS9000 standards and policies
- Ensures all engineering and maintenance work completed meets Federal, State, and local codes of compliance.
- Plans, executes timely and on budget implementation of capital projects.
- Interfaces with insurance and risk assessment groups to ensure standard are in place to protect the well-being of employees and Plant infrastructure.
- Engineers and installs production systems and equipment configurations and any revisions.
- Works with Plant Manager and other Plant personnel to resolve process and equipment issues, often complex in nature.
- Supervise equipment and facilities modifications; direct work of Contract personnel.
- Recommends process improvement, including machine component layout and technical design.
- Ensure facility prints and drawings are up-to-date.
- Assist Environmental, Health and Safety function with technical issues and collaborate with other function as required
- Utilize Lean methodology to drive sustainable improvement (safety, quality, reliability, waste, productivity).
- Actively participates in continuous improvement processes and teams including the Safety Committee.
- Cooperate/Participate during cross training of personnel for efficiency optimization and personal multi-skills development;
- Performs other related projects and other duties as assigned.
- Relevant bachelor’s degree in engineering
- Experience from manufacturing preferred (production, maintenance or engineering)
- Experience from project coordination or project management preferred
- Exercise a high degree of independent judgment and self-motivation while fostering a team atmosphere.
- Mechanical/mathematical aptitude.
- Solid troubleshooting skills.
- Sound communication skills both verbal and written.
- Interpersonal skills, strategic planning and influencing skills, problem solving, organizational and leadership skills.
- Requires the ability to use multiple computer programs/systems including MS Office Suite.
- Portion of the time will be spent on the manufacturing floor.
- Dedicated keyboard and computer screen work.
- The employee must possess the ability to see, hear, talk and use fingers to manipulate controls.
- The employee must be able to stand and walk on a variation of surfaces for long periods of time.
- Requires the ability to travel overnight
