Purpose of the job
- To perform multiple functions pertaining to planning, order scheduling and inventory program management.
ORDER SCHEDULING
- Schedule orders using company computer system and manual systems. This will entail determining whether order should be manufactured, taken from finished goods or sheet stock inventory, or converted from roll stock inventory.
- Coordinate converting operations among appropriate departments on an order specific basis.
- Expedite orders, acting as liaison between customer service and manufacturing.
- Establish and monitor appropriate levels of in-house inventory of certain raw materials and products by using the computerized inventory control system, cycle counts as needed, etc. Focus on reducing inventories when possible.
- Distribute inventory level reports monthly to appropriate staff.
- Serve as the coordinator of inventory systems and function as a resource to all people using the systems for training, updates, changes, etc.
MANUFACTURING SCHEDULING
- Prepare weekly Production plans for assigned machines.
- Monitor and order assigned supplies and raw material.
- Coordinate scheduling of experimental runs with Sales and Technology.
- Update and distribute production reports as necessary.
- Monitor lead times on assigned machines and orders.
- To perform and assist in any other related projects and duties as assigned.
Communication
Communications should be clear, concise, and transparent to fully inform all functional areas of the business.
- Associate’s Degree in Business Administration (or equivalent) with an emphasis on Logistics and / or Inventory Management preferred
- Minimum of two (2) year experience in a business or manufacturing environment
- Computer literate – Microsoft Windows/Word/Excel and Company Software
- Experience in Optimill, Orderplan and SAP preferred
- Excellent professional, written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and statistical skills
- Experience in a team-based environment
- High level of initiative and independence in managing responsibilities
- Detail oriented
- Fluent verbal and written English
