Ahlum & Arbor has been in business for over 40 years. We are a drug—and tobacco-free company. We have a passion for trees and are focused on caring for and preserving trees throughout Columbus, Ohio. We have a state-of-the-art facility and equipment and a great group of arborists waiting for you.
We seek a strong leader to step into our Columbus, Ohio Branch. This leader will take us to the next level of success. This person supervises the Tree Care Manager, Plant Health Care Manager, and Mulch and Sales arborists. This position will follow all leadership and supervisory responsibilities following Ahlum & Arbor's policies.
Must be current tree care practices and fully understand ANSI A300 and ANSI Z133 standards.
Branch Manager Job Duties:
- Promote the company's mission and values by creating a positive culture, providing sales support, and driving profit.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; and participating in professional societies.
- Enforce ethical business and safety practices throughout the Branch.
- Work with the Director of Operations to set goals for the Branch and strive to exceed those goals
- Manage and direct operations at the Branch level to raise the bar of excellence
- Practice of effective verbal and written communication.
- Maintain quality service and efficiency of all divisions using proven Ahlum & Arbor Tree Preservation process standards.
- Promote training and development throughout by coaching and developing employees for future advancement
- Ensure high customer and client satisfaction.
- Provide a safe and positive place to work. Give praise and recognition where it is due
- Displays resourcefulness, and generates suggestions for improving situations
- Ensures a quality product for our customers by minimizing incidents and waste.
- Collaborates with Managers to evaluate personnel and deliver performance reviews following the company policy
- Presents a professional, clean appearance and expects such from the employees
- Proven ability to successfully work independently with little instructions from the President/Owner
- Driven with urgency, not haste
- Organized, professional and detailed
Qualifications
- Proven expertise in Tree Care and Plant Health Care
- Love of trees and the outdoors
- Strong background in Tree Care supervisory/leadership 5 years.
- ISA Certified Arborist® credential
- Proficiency in technology
- Ability to lead a team and manage branch operations effectively
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time exempt position, days and hours of work are Monday - Friday 6:30 am-5:00 pm. The timing is subject to season and weather conditions. Additional hours or travel may be warranted due to business demands.
