HRIS SPECIALIST

Overview

POSITION SUMMARY

The HRIS Specialist serves as the resource for administrator level advice, guidance and support to the Human Resources staff in the utilization of HR management systems (Infinium, Kronos, Payroll, other Time and Attendance and various hosted systems) and its hardware and software applications as supported by the HRIS team. Supports assigned functional areas, leads implementation teams, oversees system configurations and upgrades and analyzes data flow and mapping for all HR management systems. The HRIS Specialist develops security trees, written guidelines and user manuals for staff.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS 1. Acts as a technical liaison between Human Resources, Information Technology, Payroll and/or vendors.2. Serves as Cognos Administrator (Infinium or/and Kronos).3. Analyzes end users data needs and develops user-oriented solutions which interface with existing applications.4. Provides technical expertise, problem resolution and support in the design and development of specialized queries and ad hoc reports.5. Develops and coordinates the management of specialized databases for internal monitoring, tracking and evaluation while ensuring effective security access for personnel data while maintaining continuity of operations and safeguards data integrity.6. Responsible for programming, interfacing development, reporting, clocks, SQL database management, IT ticket support, configurations and other duties as required.7. Maintains system tables, security trees by routinely running queries and analyzing data dealing with HRIS (Infinium and/or Kronos).8. Generates complex mainframe reports based on specific time lines including but not limited to the Affordable Care Act, 401(k) Plan, benefits (including accruals), union step progression increases, benefits and discoverable information requests for legal matters.9. Produces ad hoc (simple to complex) reports as requested by the Human Resources Department or Finance (e.g. new hire reports, termination reports, security access reports, expense reports, etc.), 10. Monitors, analyzes and evaluates system utilization to ensure appropriate and efficient use of applications.11. Performs ongoing evaluation of software and hardware to ensure the continued and future effectiveness and efficiency of HRIS related products and makes recommendations for requests to enhance or replace existing hardware/software.12. Develops user procedures, guidelines and manuals in written and visual format as requested.13. Communicates with immediate supervisor regularly and provides updates regarding projects, issues or concerns that arise.14. Must maintain the highest level of confidentiality and ensures accuracy of all data.15. Abides by Code of Conduct and HIPAA compliance.16. Performs additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

TRAINING/EXPERIENCE

2 years of experience in computer programming (Infinium, Kronos, etc.) and software application formats requiredAdvanced experience working with databases, Microsoft Excel and Power PointAdvanced experience working with Google Sheets and DocsMicrosoft SQL knowledge, along with functional working knowledge of COGNOS and KRONOS platform experience Project management and systems implementation experience preferredAbility to effectively present information and perform training to managers, groups or staff as related to system upgrades, software changes or as requested.Ability to interpret technical procedures and instructions for system and/or regulation changes as provided by third party vendor, union, governmental agencies, legal advisors and/or employee benefits Must be able to meet deadlines while maintaining the integrity of projects, work various schedules when necessary, and perform off-site training as neededEDUCATION/CERTIFICATION/LICENSEMaster’s degree or Bachelor’s degree in computer programming, engineering or HR related field and software application formats (HTML, Statistical Analysis System and Excel) preferred.
