Primary Purpose
The Cloud Platform Engineer will serve as a thought leader, working with a team committed to defining and delivering cloud solutions by providing security, reliability, availability, and self-service functions that meet the end-to-end cloud platform needs for product development teams.
You'll provide strong technical leadership and guidance in deploying and delivering various Azure services.
Our flexible / hybrid work schedule includes 3 in-person days at one of our core locations and 2 remote days.
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Design, build, manage, and operate Azure Core Services with automation and infrastructure as code.
- Design, build, manage, and operate the continuous delivery framework and tools; manage and automate the lifecycle of different platform components to support product teams.
- Lead engineering practices around test-driven development and continuous delivery of infrastructure.
- Integrate different components and develop new services with a prioritized focus on customer needs.
- Evaluate performance trends and expected changes in demand and capacity; establish scalability plans.
- Identify and troubleshoot availability and performance issues at layers of Azure Services and on-premises.
- Recommend and maintain Azure policies, governance, cost management guidance, and guardrails.
- Create and document low-level designs, as-built standards on Confluence.
- Collaborate with solution architecture, platform engineering, and product teams to deliver solutions.
- Work within project management / agile scrum teams in a leading role as part of a wider team.
Qualifications
Azure Virtual Network, VWAN, Express Route, Load Balancer (L4 / L7), Traffic Manager, CDN, Azure DNS, routing & routing protocols like BGP, firewall concepts.
