Primary Purpose

Manages internal consumer research projects and external vendors that are leveraged to extract insights for Stop & Shop.

Our flexible / hybrid work schedule includes 3 in-person days at one of our core locations and 2 remote days. Our core office locations include Quincy, MA.

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Communicates with business partners at Stop & Shop to understand issues and objectives to deliver the best and most actionable consumer research.
  • Ensure that all research instruments accurately measure objectives, and that the data is representative and validated. Implement best practices within consumer insights through standardization of methods, tools, and knowledge-sharing to maximize group efficiency and impact
  • Pulls relevant data from a variety of systems and sources. Systems and sources of data include but are not limited to primary consumer research, market share, syndicated data systems and proprietary vendor provided data sources.
  • Helps develop, analyze data and build presentations that are timely, error-free, and address stakeholder objectives.
  • Assist with primary research methodologies from both a qualitative and quantitative perspective. This includes, but is not limited to focus groups, mobile missions, research panels, online communities, tracking studies, user experience testing, segmentation studies, concept testing, test / control methodologies, etc.
  • Partners closely with other team members within Consumer Insights, Strategy, and Advanced Analytics to ensure appropriate integration of data.
  • Keep up to date on new methodologies, best in class research approaches and skill development.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Marketing Research, Psychology, Statistics, Mathematics, or closely related field. Master's Degree a plus.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of project management experience in primary consumer research.
  • Working knowledge of traditional custom research techniques, including, but not limited to product testing, concept testing, copy testing, attitude & usage measurement, awareness & perception tracking, package testing, segmentation studies, in-store controlled tests, online panel management, etc.
  • Minimum Intermediate Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 : Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with syndicated POS / FSP data sources such as Circana / Nielsen preferred.
  • Familiarity with analysis tools such as Python or R is a plus.
  • Must possess a willingness and aptitude to learn.
  • Baseline undertanding of qualitative and quantitative research methods and metrics
  • Baseline understanding of survey design
  • Baseline understanding of data collection, analysis, and descriptive statistics
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to manage vendor relationships effectively.
