Primary purpose:
Our Lead Residential Support Professional (RSP) helps to enable individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities and other social barriers to achieve their desired quality of life. You will provide continuous cares and supports to children in a home environment by assisting in developing the skills needed to live as autonomously as safety allows by utilizing client centered supports. Your duties also include training of new staff to aHope INC’s policies and procedures and working cohesively with the House manager to ensure program wide operations are completed in a timely manner and in accordance with aHope INC.’s standards as laid out in the policies, procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Lead Residential Support Professional is responsible for providing direct care for Intellectual/Developmentally Disabled children with behavior challenges and medical conditions. Duties include but are not limited to:
- Assisting house manager in ensuring program wide operations are completed to aHope INC.’s policies, procedures and standard.
- Interviewing potential hires for aHope INC.
- Training/mentoring new staff on policies and procedures of aHope INC.
- Assist House Manager in providing coaching as needed to staff
- On call duties
- Identifying and reporting program needs/issues to House manager
- Medication administration
- Ensuring Medications are ordered and available
- Staff documentation review, performing audits and pulling reports
- Acting Safety officer
- Assisting with staff scheduling
- Making client appointments
- Assist house manager with coordinating outings for clients
- Creating and implementing client menus
- Performing nurse delegated tasks
- Provide client assistance with activities of daily living/personal cares
- Prepare meals according to physician ordered diet plans
- Assist clients in eating according to ISP/NCP (If applicable)
- Accurate documentation in accordance with company policies and OARs
- Knowledge of and implementation of PBSP
- Knowledge of and implementation of ISP
- Individualized engagement with creative in-home activities
- Promoting physical and emotional safety
- Promoting autonomy as safety allows
- Accompany clients on outings for community involvement
- Accompany clients on medical appointments
- Responding to medical emergencies as needed
- Responding to behavioral crisis
- Teaching and encourage positive coping skills in accordance with individualized support plans aimed at family reunification
- Obtaining client vital signs
- Facilitating schoolwork and virtual learning
- All other duties as assigned
Ongoing education:
The Lead Residential Support Professional is responsible for acquiring and maintaining ongoing education in accordance with OARs to maintain proficiency and effectiveness in their position.
- Maintain CPR/BLS certification
- Maintain OIS level G certification
- Maintain annual competencies for Workday Oregon
- Maintain Oregon Food Handler's Card
Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
The Lead Residential Support Professional must:
- Have a working knowledge of requirements for all shifts for aHope INC. as a Residential Support Professional
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Have an active driver’s license
- Successful clearance of state background check through ORCHARDS
- Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English
- Ability to lift, push and pull 50 lbs
- Previous Leadership Experience
