AHRC NYC is holding aHIRING EVENTwithON THE SPOT JOB OFFERS!for Full-Time Direct Support Professionals (DSP) for their Bronx Adult Day Programs

DATE & TIME:THURSDAY MAY 1ST from 10AM-1PM

LOCATION: Bronx 10466.... Recruiter will provide specific address for qualified candidates.

PAY RATE: $17-$18.10 per hour (depending on driving status)

SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM (35 hours per week)

AHRC New York City is looking for compassionate and dedicatedDirect Support Professionals (DSPs)to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) in our Adult Day Programs. As a DSP, you will empower individuals to lead self-directed lives and become valued, active members of their communities.

Main Responsibilities:

• Work with participants by assisting them to learn and develop social skills, daily living skillsand habits.
• Collaborate with individuals, families, and the team to develop and implement Person-Centered plans that focus on strengths, preferences, and goals.
• Transport participants to and from their residences, as well as to appointments, social outings, and other scheduled activities.
• Accompany participantsto appointments, community outings, and other activities.
• Complete progress notes and make entries into the daily log book.
  
  

Qualifications

• Personal and/or Professional experience working with individuals with disabilitiespreferred.
• Day Hab. experience preferred but not required
• NYS Drivers License for more than one year in good standing preferred
• Ability to communicate both orally and in written form in English.
• Ability to establish and maintain a working relationship with program participants, families, staff and community agencies.
• Understanding of Person Centered Planning.
• High School diploma or GED is required.
