AHRC NYC is looking for a Licensed Psychologist to diagnose or evaluate mental and emotional disorders of individuals and administer programs of treatment by performing the following duties... as well as assist the Chief Psychologist with various administrative and supervisory responsibilities as outlined below:
SALARY: $90,000 - $100,000 per year. Plus a low cost, comprehensive Benefit package...see Benefit information below.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Interview clients in various settings and study medical and social case histories.
Observes clients in play or other situations, and selects, administers, and interprets intelligence, achievement, interest, personality and other psychological tests to diagnose and formulate plans of treatment.
Treats psychological disorders to effect improved adjustments.
Selects approach to use in individual, group, and family therapy such as directive, nondirective, and supportive therapy and plans frequency, intensity, and duration of therapy.
Collaborates with Medical Director and other specialists in developing treatment programs for clients.
Instructs and directs students serving psychological internships.
Develops experimental designs and conducts research in fields of personality development and adjustment, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of mental disorders.
Serves as consultant to staff, other departments and other agencies on individual cases to in evaluation, planning, and development of mental health programs.
Performs all duties necessary for compliance with relevant regulations governing service provision, including record keeping.
Deals with people supported in a legal and ethical manner.
Productivity
Number of visits or equivalent units billed or produced over the course of the fiscal year, prorated for part-time staff and those staff and those working less than a full fiscal year. Every clinician will have a predetermined productivity expectation based on caseload requirements and/or other job responsibilities.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly supervises full time, fee-for-service and / or student interns as designated by the Chief Psychologist. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Is directly responsible for the quality of care delivered by the supervised interns.

- Doctoral degree (Ph. D) or equivalent in a clinical or counseling field of psychology. One-year internship required.
- Currently licensed in good standing as a Licensed Psychologist in New York State.
- Must be fluent in Spanish
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the medical community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribe style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and / or boards of directors.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to deal with a several abstract and concrete variables.
