The Enhanced Step Down (ESD) Program Director is a Licensed Mental Health Professional who oversees both the Critical Time Intervention (CTI) and Transitional Residential Setting (TRS) components of the ESD program. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to overseeing hiring, training, program development and effective delivery of services in the ESD.

Essential Responsibilities
The ESD provides trauma informed clinical and transitional residential support through the Critical Time Intervention and TSR program components for people with I/DD experiencing psychiatric or other behavioral health crises. The ESD Program Director.
- Engages in policy and procedure development; recruitment, training and evaluation of program staff; budget monitoring; quality assurance and quality improvement activities: and internal and external reporting to relevant stakeholders.
- Facilitates identification, creation, and development of services and activities to meet the needs of people supported, consistent with program objectives.
- Supervises overall intake, discharge, post-discharge, and utilization review practices and activities.
- Evaluates and makes recommendations to senior management about quality-related concerns regarding the ESD program.
- Ensures proper monitoring of budget expenditures and generates budget reconciliation reports for funder and senior management.
- Monitors and manages the program's ability to fully meet quality and contract metrics related to service delivery requirements.
- Develops and maintains positive relationships with external stakeholders and the community, as needed.
- Performs additional duties, as needed.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s level clinician with at least 3 years of related experience required. Licensed mental health clinician preferred.
- Experience in supervising staff
- Must be knowledgeable in the field of developmental and intellectual disabilities and have experience working with people with both I/DD and psychiatric disorders.
- Must have ability to plan, organize, develop, and implement program policies and procedures in a timely and consistent manner.
- Ability to be patient, enthusiastic and confident when interacting with people supported by the program, understanding the psychosocial and cognitive levels at which they are functioning.
- Ability to deal diplomatically with personnel, guests, family members, visitors, government agencies and the public.
- Must possess ability to make independent decisions and handle stressful situations when circumstances warrant.
- Valid Tri-State New York State driver's license, in good standing and safe driving history, with no or infrequent violations/suspensions/revocations preferred.
