Job Description
AHRC NYC is hosting a HIRING EVENT with ON-THE-SPOT JOB OFFERS for Full-Time Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) for our Bronx Adult Day Programs.
Ideal candidates will be able and willing to drive to provide transportation for pick-ups and drop-offs, in addition to supporting our Day Program participants.
DATE & TIME: THURSDAY MAY 1ST from 10AM-1PM
LOCATION: Bronx 10466.... Recruiter will provide specific address for qualified candidates.
PAY RATE: $17-$18.10 per hour (depending on driving status)
SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM (35 hours per week)

AHRC New York City is looking for compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) in our Adult Day Programs. As a DSP, you will empower individuals to lead self-directed lives and become valued, active members of their communities.
Main Responsibilities:
- Work with participants by assisting them to learn and develop social skills, daily living skills and habits.
- Collaborate with individuals, families, and the team to develop and implement Person-Centered plans that focus on strengths, preferences, and goals.
- Transport participants to and from their residences, as well as to appointments, social outings, and other scheduled activities.
- Accompany participants to appointments, community outings, and other activities.
- Complete progress notes and make entries into the daily log book.
Qualifications
- Personal and/or Professional experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred.
- Day Hab. experience preferred but not required
- NYS Drivers License for more than one year in good standing preferred
- Ability to communicate both orally and in written form in English.
- Ability to establish and maintain a working relationship with program participants, families, staff and community agencies.
- Understanding of Person Centered Planning.
- High School diploma or GED is required.
