Air-Conditioning, Heating & Refrigeration Institute (AHRI) is seeking to fill a Customer Service Representative position for our sister organization, North American Technician Excellence (NATE). NATE is the nation’s largest nonprofit certification organization for heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration (HVACR) technicians. NATE tests represent real-world working knowledge of HVACR systems and validate the professional competency of service and installation technicians. Contractors, manufacturers, distributors and educators across the industry partner with NATE to develop knowledgeable, competent HVACR technicians. NATE has an opening for a Customer Service Representative to work at their office in Arlington, VA. This is a hybrid position requiring staff to work in the office two days a week. The Customer Service Representative interacts with customers, responding by phone and email to inquiries regarding products and services and resolves customer complaints.

Duties include but are not limited to:
- Maintenance of customer interactions and transactions; record details of inquiries, complaints, comments, as well as other actions taken.
- Interact with customers via phone and email to provide information regarding certifications, take and enter orders, cancel orders, and obtain details regarding any complaints. Follow up to ensure that appropriate changes were made to resolve customer issues.
- Determine charges for requested services, collect deposits/payments, or make billing arrangements.
- Attempt to resolve customer service or billing complaints by performing activities such as exchanging merchandise and working with accounting department to provide refunds or make billing adjustments.
- Ensure technician information is up-to-date by periodic review of information (address, phone number, etc.).
- Associate's degree preferred.
- One year relevant customer service experience in a professional office environment or call center.
- Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Outlook and Word. Familiarity with Excel.
- Previous experience working with databases in their role as a customer service representative or specialist
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
- Clear diction on the phone when responding to inquiries
