AHRI has an opening for a Sustainability Engineer. The Sustainability Engineer’s primary responsibility is development and management of certification and standards activities related to decarbonization and the environmental impact of HVACR and water heating equipment. Duties are as follows:

AHRI has an opening for a Sustainability Engineer. The Sustainability Engineer’s primary responsibility is development and management of certification and standards activities related to decarbonization and the environmental impact of HVACR and water heating equipment. Duties are as follows:
- Develop and maintain documents and procedures for an ISO 14025 compliant program for environmental product declarations.
- Lead technical committees and working groups to develop industry standards, guidelines, and Product Category Rules.
- Collaborate with AHRI members, committees and working groups, consultants, and industry stakeholders.
- Establish industry needs for standards and certification with AHRI members and develop technical documents to meet those needs.
- Develop and administer procedures for the development of Product Category Rules and verification of Environmental Product Declarations following ISO 14025 requirements for Program Operators.
- Serve as the Executive Assistant to committees and working groups. Promote consensus decisions, recommend solutions, and provide supporting analysis. Draft, organize, and circulate meeting notifications, information, agendas, and minutes.
- Represent AHRI at industry meetings and technical conferences.
- Monitor industry developments and activities in other organizations related to decarbonization and product sustainability that impact AHRI and member companies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited college/university.
- LEED, PE or EIT certification preferred.
- Minimum of two years of experience in product sustainability or other relevant experience.
- Experience with professional societies such as ASHRAE preferred.
