Your efficiency in managing inventory and processing prescriptions allows pharmacists to focus on patient care. Provides basic prescription filling, inventory management and customer service. May assists with other pharmacy projects. Principle Responsibilities Prescription Filling Order entry into pharmacy management software. Fulfilment of reviewed orders. Final dispense according to disposition. Reduces audit risk through proper checks including, but not limited to, DAW, days supply, NDC validation, dates of service, discrete directions and other standard practices. Customer Service Provides service to internal and external customers. Greets patients, employees and staff in a timely and courteous manner. Obtains needed information through direct patient contact to support prescription filling. Advocates for patients by searching for manufacturer and foundation copay assistance. Technician will routinely complete the following responsibilities to manage and support drug distribution Inventory Management – receipt and restock of wholesaler orders, transfer of medications to internal pharmacies. Medication picking in support of prescription filling. Restocks automated dispensing robots. May troubleshoot malfunctioning equipment. May assist with returns, waste, and reporting/resolution of discrepancies. Complete and document quality assurance activities Monitors expiration dating. Performs cleaning. Reports discrepancies or inaccuracies to pharmacist or supervisor. Other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Must be 18 years of age with education and/or experience needed to meet required functional competencies as listed on the job description Preferred Qualifications High school diploma or GED Licenses/Certifications Registered Pharmacy Technician - MN or WI Board of Pharmacy required depending on state location Physical Demands Light Work: Lifting weight Up to 20 lbs. occasionally, Up to 10 lbs. frequently Pay Range Pay Range: $20.32 to $27.68 per hour The pay described reflects the base hiring pay range. Your starting rate would depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable). Shift, weekend and/or other differentials may be available to increase your pay rate for certain shifts or work.
