JOB SUMMARY: Prepares and cooks food necessary for the nutritional care of hospital patients, staff and others as necessary.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
- High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
- Food Handler’s permit required or must be obtained.
- One year of cooking experience preferred.
- Knowledge of basic food preparation and cooking methods.
- Knows how to read recipes and make mathematical adjustments.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Ability to follow and understand basic food handling recipes, directions and oral instructions. |
Checks production sheet for amounts to prepare. |
Always keeps waste/over production to a minimum. |
Maintains proper steam tables temperature and cleanliness. |
Ensures proper techniques for stored food and leftovers. |
Ability to complete basic mathematic calculations. |
Ability to answer questions from and speak to customers in a courteous manner. |
All other duties as assigned or required. |
Ability to multi-task while ensuring safety and sanitation practices are adhered to throughout the shift. |
Maintain regular attendance |
Ability to adhere to strict food handling and storage directions. |
