What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pharmacy Tech position at AHS Vista LLC?
Provide technical support to pharmacists.
Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care/service appropriate to the age of patients/customers served.
- Provide the care/service needed as described in the department's policies and procedures.
- Obtain the correct medication and quantity for pharmacist review.
- Fill orders and medication carts.
- Consistently and accurately process prescriptions.
- Maintain adequate stock according to established guidelines.
- Prepare bulk medication according to policy and guidelines.
- Assist customers at counter.
- Enter orders.
- Generate reports.
- Answer telephones.
- Prepare IV medications.
- Accurately prepare all IV medications using appropriate sterile techniques. Accurately prepare chemotherapy, IVPBs, and TPNs.
- Deliver medications and IV's.
- Deliver medication to the correct nursing/ancillary departments. Complete east and west rounds within ten minutes.
- Maintain floor stock and crash carts.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Eligibility for licensure as a pharmacy technician by the Illinois Department of Professional Regulation.
