Position Summary:
Vista Medical Center is seeking a dedicated and experienced Food Service Supervisor to oversee daily operations within our food service department. This role is responsible for ensuring high-quality food preparation, compliance with health and safety regulations, and exceptional service to patients, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise food service staff, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to established procedures.
Oversee meal preparation, portion control, and food presentation to maintain quality standards.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations, including HACCP guidelines.
Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and manage food storage practices.
Assist with menu planning and dietary accommodations for patients with specific nutritional needs.
Train, mentor, and evaluate food service employees, fostering a positive team environment.
Address customer concerns and ensure a high standard of service for patients, staff, and visitors.
Collaborate with dietitians and hospital staff to meet dietary and nutritional requirements.
Maintain accurate records of food usage, waste, and costs for budget control.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; culinary or hospitality degree preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience in food service, preferably in a healthcare setting.
Knowledge of food safety regulations, including ServSafe certification (or ability to obtain).
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
Proficiency in food service management software is a plus.
