Job Summary:
A Pharmacy Technician supports licensed pharmacists in the preparation, distribution, and administration of medications. They perform various tasks related to the management of medication supplies, assist with patient care, and ensure compliance with pharmacy regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately prepare, dispense, and distribute medications, including counting, labeling, and packaging medications.
- Assist pharmacists with compounded medications, sterile products, and IV solutions preparation.
- Maintain accurate patient medication records and store pharmaceuticals properly.
- Routine inventory checks and stocking of medication supplies.
- Process insurance claims and verify patient information and billing details.
- Ensure compliance with pharmacy laws, regulations, and standards.
- Answer patient questions and provide medication information under pharmacist supervision.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Completion of a pharmacy technician program or certification preferred.
- State-specific pharmacy technician certification or registration may be required.
