Job Title : DON (Director of Nursing) - Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF)
Job Summary :
A Director of Nursing (DON) in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) oversees the delivery of high-quality nursing care, ensuring compliance with regulations, staffing, and operational standards. The DON is responsible for leading the nursing team, ensuring optimal patient outcomes, and maintaining a safe and efficient environment for residents with varying levels of care needs.
Key Responsibilities :
- Manage and lead the nursing staff, including recruitment, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
- Develop, implement, and monitor policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations governing skilled nursing care.
- Collaborate with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, and other healthcare professionals to develop and maintain individualized care plans for residents.
- Ensure the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care in accordance with regulatory standards and best practices.
- Monitor clinical outcomes, quality of care, and ensure continuous improvement initiatives to enhance resident health and satisfaction.
- Oversee medication management, treatment planning, and ensure adherence to infection control protocols.
- Ensure appropriate care levels are provided to meet the physical, emotional, and social needs of residents.
- Manage and maintain accurate clinical documentation, ensuring compliance with federal and state guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations regarding patient safety, reporting of incidents, and adherence to healthcare standards.
- Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and collaboration among staff to ensure high standards of care are met.
- Serve as a liaison between the nursing team, administration, and external regulatory bodies.
- Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement programs to enhance clinical outcomes.
- Assist with budgeting and financial management related to nursing operations.
Qualifications :
Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
Certified Director of Nursing (CDON) or Certified in Gerontology preferred.
