Position: Head Football Coach
AHSTW Community School District is currently accepting applications for the position of Head Football Coach beginning with the 2025-2026 school year.
Goals for the position of Head Coach: Provide leadership, supervision, and instruction designed to develop sportsmanship and the skills necessary to achieve both team and individual success.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and instruction to participants to develop the skills necessary for achievement in the specific sport.
- Build relationships with AHSTW students to encourage participation.
- Organize, develop, and implement expectations, routines, schedules, including game preparation designed to promote success.
- Manage the safety conditions of the facilities in which the sport is conducted at all times that students are present.
- Create and model expectations of sportsmanship at all times, as well as overseeing consequences if such standards are not met by individual students.
- Establish and maintain competency in rules, rule interpretations; meet procedures, coaching techniques and general information about all aspects of the sport.
- Establish performance criteria for participation in interscholastic competition in the specific sport and is consistent in establishing criteria for participation for competition.
- Select and supervise assigned coaching staff in cooperation with administration.
- Implement a safety program designed to reduce injury and promote student safety and health.
- Work closely with Athletic Director in scheduling interscholastic contests.
- Analyze opponent’s tendencies through the use of game film, in-person scouting, and/or statistics to prepare game plans.
- Recommend to the Athletic Director the purchase of equipment, supplies and uniforms.
- Maintain participant handbook, and paperwork necessary for participation.
- Responsible for and account for all equipment.
- Develop consistent and positive communications procedures with student/athletes, and parents in relation to expectations, season calendar, and schedule modifications.
- Maintain and report accurate statistics, record, and results of the season.
- Coordinate/supervise recognition and motivational programs for student athletes.
- Assist eligible student athletes in obtaining athletic scholarships, if relevant.
- Regular and reliable attendance.
- Other duties as assigned.
