The Manufacturing Technician II is responsible for assembling, testing, and calibrating manufactured products while performing equipment and tester assembly tasks. This role supports various production functions and assists with prototype development in collaboration with Engineering. The position requires strong mechanical, electrical, and welding skills to maintain production efficiency and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform assembly and testing of manufactured products based on work orders, engineering designs, and schematics (both electrical and hydraulic).
- Operate machines and tools such as band saws, plasma cutters, gas cutting equipment, welders (stick/mig), drill presses, grinders, and hydraulic crimping machines.
- Utilize testing equipment, including amprobe, voltage meters, strobe lights, and various hand tools for product testing and calibration.
- Record test results and maintain as-built records for non-standard products.
- Assist Engineering in prototype development and troubleshooting projects.
- Repair and calibrate products as needed to ensure quality and functionality.
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment while adhering to safety protocols.
- Support various production roles, including assembly, welding, product testing, and storeroom duties.
- Perform other duties as assigned and work overtime as required.
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing experience involving basic welding, electrical, and mechanical tasks.
- Experience in fluid power or manufacturing environments is preferred.
Special Requirements:
- Forklift certification, including RAYMOND upright forklift operation, is required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of basic hydraulic and electrical systems in manufacturing settings.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and engineering documents.
- Competence in operating various manufacturing and testing equipment.
- Effective problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in product assembly and testing.
Additional Desired Characteristics:
- Familiarity with prototype development processes.
- Ability to work collaboratively with Engineering and production teams.
Work Environment:
- Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts.
- Occasional exposure to fumes or airborne particles.
- Noise levels are typically moderate.
