The opportunity:
We have an exciting opportunity available for a Senior Manager, Claims to lead our team and act as a key relationship contact for our partners. Within this role you will lead a high performing team and be responsible for implementing AIA’s claims management philosophy and strategies that will influence the claims experience to meet AIA Australia’s expectations. This opportunity will report to the General Manager, Claims Management and the successful incumbent can be based in either Melbourne or Sydney.
To do this successfully you will:
- Play a key role in the Operations Management Team, including pro-active participation in planning days, contribution to employee engagement actions and the strategic goal of making AIA Claims a ‘great place to work’
- Lead and develop the Claims Team Managers, including on-going coaching and mentoring
- Build and maintain effective relationships with partners and participate in monthly service delivery meetings where appropriate to ensure we continue to deliver a partnership approach and our relationships are maintained
- Be responsible for the end-to-end management of all claim and benefit types
- Develop, agree, and communicate the partner claims philosophy, strategy, KPIs and performance expectations to the AIA claims team
- Determine and use influencing, engagement and change management skills to identify, design and deliver key initiatives to help achieve claims strategy and develop a high-performance culture
- Drive sustainable cost reduction through simplification of processes, supporting key change programs and leading continuous improvement initiatives
- Prepare monthly and ad hoc reporting to measure trends, productivity and performance throughout the year, identify areas for improvement, and address as required.
Successful applications will demonstrate:
- Previous experience working within and a high-level knowledge of claims management within the life insurance industry
- The ability to lead and motivate a team and create and sustain a positive and dynamic team environment
- Analytical skills, with a high attention to detail and the ability to analyse data, make recommendations and act on decisions
- An understanding of performance targets and measurements, and the ability to track and monitor delivery
- An exceptional customer service focus
- The ability to work in a changing environment and bring new ideas to the table
- A continuous improvement mindset
