What are the responsibilities and job description for the Distribution Automation Technician position at AIC Ameren Illinois?
If end date is listed, the posting will come down at 12:00 am on that date: Saturday August 12, 2023 DA Tech will work under general supervision to perform Installation, Maintenance, Troubleshooting, and Repair of all electric intelligent devices installed on the distribution system (less than 100kv). Such devices include SCADA, Relays, and Automated Controls on Capacitors, Voltage Regulators, Switchgear, Transformers, Switches, Reclosers, Breakers, Automated Throw-over or Sectionalizer schemes, and the Field Area Networks to support these schemes. Test, calibrate and repair electronic relay controls for installations listed above. Operation of various computer testing and programming software. Install, maintain and troubleshoot telecommunication devices and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) applications. Wiring of AC or DC control power and circuitry as needed. Prepare clear and concise reports on all work performed. Preform high voltage switching and battery maintenance if necessary. Applicants must be available for overtime and emergency callouts. MINIMUM QUALIFCATIONS: An Associate of Applied Science Degree in Electrical or Electronics Technology Course requirements from an A.B.E.T. accredited college. A grade of C or higher for each course must have been attained. An Associate degree from a school accredited by a different organization will be considered if the course content is comparable (College Algebra, Trigonometry, DSC circuits, AC circuits, Electronics, Digital Logic, & Microprocessors at a minimum). A grade of C or higher for each course must have been attained. The EEI Technical Aptitude Test or Ameren Tech Test and receive a passing grade. The Company will assist in the scheduling of these activities. Must receive a "Recommended" status for the "criteria based" evaluation test and the field evaluation program (EV's). Must possess or obtain a valid Illinois "D" or equivalent valid driver's license in the first six months.
