Job Description Ameren Illinois is looking for a Gas Trouble man Apprentice 1st Year in Peoria, IL who will be responsible for the following duties: Gas transmission and distribution main and service construction and maintenance. Gas local work including meter connects, disconnects, JULIE locates, Code Compliance, and emergency calls. Respond to any gas emergency (i.e. leaks, carbon monoxide, fire calls, etc.) Set and maintain residential and large commercial gas meter installations, perform pipe work on our customers premise and work on and have knowledge of gas appliances. Install & maintain gas services, mains and all other Company gas distribution equipment. Perform any and all gas work and operate equipment (trencher, backhoe, etc.) Must be willing to work shift work and be available for overtime and emergency call-outs. This position is covered by the IBEW bargaining agreement. Must live within 25 miles of the service center. REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma or equivalent Successfully pass the EEI CAST test and Gas Evaluation administered by the Company as applicable. Successful candidate must be able to obtain and retain a CDL (Commercial Driver's License) and must become respirator qualified. Successfully candidate must be able to pass a DOT physical, drug screen and driver qualifications. Must be able to work with the public, shift work, and overtime. Hourly Pay: Grade Step BW 060 Step 1 of 1 (Top Step) - 40.34 USD Position is eligible for annual incentive payments based on company performance and subject to sole management discretion.
