Job Description
AID Tire and Auto Repair is looking for a full-time Tire / Oil Technician to join our team. We are a family owned and operated business for 42 years and still counting. Experience would be helpful but may make an exception for the right candidate who has proven mechanical knowledge.
We pay at a competitive rate and based upon prior experience and/or auto mechanical knowledge.
Qualifications
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and be on your feet for the majority of the day
- Must be able to work in high heat, low humidity, and on your feet for long periods of time.
- Experience is helpful, but with the right candidate having only mechanical knowledge, will be considered.
Responsibilities:
- Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers are well-informed of any additional services needed.
- Properly secure vehicle to lift to ensure safe operation.
- Inspect vehicle fluid levels and replace or replenish as necessary.
- Operate all tools and equipment in a safe manner.
- Check tire pressure and add air if needed.
- Inspect fluid levels.
- Inspect belts, hoses, and wiper blades.
- Inspect vehicles for additional repairs needed.
- Drain motor oil, change oil filter, grease chassis fittings.
- Performs routine service inspections or tests and completes standard maintenance jobs.
- Test and install new tires and wheels, and mount and balance tires.
- Rotate tires.
- Perform wheel alignments.
- Follows all shop policy, procedure, safety, and environmental rules.
- Keep shop area neat and clean.
- Monitor inventory levels to ensure stocked parts are available at all times.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Knowledge/Experience of automotive servicing or repair, highly desired.
- Enjoy working in a fast paced environment.
- Willingness to learn new technology, repair and service procedures and specifications.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- One year of relevant experience preferred.
- Able to bend, kneel, squat, stand, and lift heavy objects as needed.
- Collaborates well with others in a team setting.
- Effective analytical and communication skills and eagerness to improve.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to interact professionally with customers, vendors, and staff.
- Own tools/Box for use on premises.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.15 - $15.99 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
