GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES
Provides behavioral services to facilitate the optimal development of each resident and participates in staff training, program development and serves as a member of the interdisciplinary evaluation team.
RESPONSIBILITIES
·Participates in the interdisciplinary evaluation of individual residents and makes recommendations and discusses individual’s initiatives with interdisciplinary team/and or program director prior to implementation.
·Produces a weekly schedule that rotates time at each designated site. A minimum of two-three hours weekly in ICF and bi-weekly in IRA programs must be spent on site when residents are home, unless otherwise approved by the supervisor.
·Serves on the Human Rights Committee and Incident Review Committee
·Performs Functional Analysis of Behaviors before creating a Behavior Support Plan. This includes restrictive/intrusive interventions that shall function under the supervision of a licensed psychologist or licensed clinical social worker.
·Conducts data collection and analysis of behaviors each month for all programs, as well as complete clinical summary notes, updates graphs and monthly ITT progress notes. Updates supports in a timely manner and conducts necessary in-services and observations to assess efficacy.
·Performs staff observations with consumers to ensure proper implementation of BSP by remaining in where staff and individual interactions are naturally occurring.
·Attends psychiatric appointments for individuals in crisis
·Must maintain SCIP and CPR certification yearly
·Update Cognitive Section of annual CFA prior to meeting, participate in all annual CFA meetings
·Maintains accepted standards of confidentiality through HIPAA privacy act
·Remain current on new support system to aid in behavioral support (augmentative communication, behavior analysis, etc.).
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Ability to establish effective working relationships with residents, family and staff.
Ability to transmit information in an effective positive manner.
Ability to think constructively and work independent of supervision
Ability to prepare / write clear, accurate and comprehensive behavior plans and reach logical conclusions based on available information and observation.
Ability to effectively use time to manage responsibilities with focus of the needs of individual served.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Graduate from an accredited college or university with a Master’s Degree from a program in a clinical or treatment field of psychology, social work, school psychology, or applied psychology as it relates to human development and clinical interventions, and documented training in assessment techniques and behavior support plan development.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
This is an exempt position. It requires the ability to type at a keyboard. Driving between program sites is required and as such a valid diverse license is required. Standing or sitting for several hours at a time may be required. The ability to perform SCIP-R techniques is required and training on these techniques will be provided. The position also requires the ability to share office space.
