RISE is a nonprofit organization that was established in 1980 as Aid To The Developmentally Disabled (ADD) by family members who were concerned about the physical and emotional decline of patients compelled to live in crowded institutions.
These family members believed that appropriate treatment and training in a warm, sheltered, homelike environment would enhance their physical and emotional growth. With the support, funding and licensing of New York State’s Office of People With Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) and the Office of Mental Health (OMH), ADD came to life.
We are currently seeking a Medical Direct Support Professional to work in our residential program based in Ridge. In this role you work with the clinical team that is assembled in the program. This being the Registered Nurse and the LPN. Responsibilities will center around attending medical appointments with the people we support. This role would be appropriate for someone who would like to gain clinical experience in the field of developmental disabilities. This is a full time role working 8am-4pm Monday through Friday. We also offer a $3500 dollar sign on bonus for this position.
Qualifications for a Medical Direct Support Professional
Valid NYS Drivers for license for at least one year.
HS Degree/GED required
1 year prior experience with ID/DD population
