Job Title: Pharmacy Technician

The Pharmacy Technician will prepare medications under the direction of a pharmacist. We operate on a 35 hour work week and offer an excellent benefit package.

The Pharmacy Technician will be responsible for:
- Greet and acknowledge patients according to agency standards
- Receive, record and relay messages accurately, completely and legibly
- Speak with others using clear, professional and polite language
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others, support the ACG team to reach common goal
- Dispense and package medications under the direction of the on-duty pharmacist
- Ensure compliance with all licensure and federal, state, and local laws and regulations; observe the pharmacy's policies on best practices
- Answer incoming calls and respond to customer inquiries in a professional and courteous manner
- Collaborate with team members to improve service delivery and patient satisfaction
- Assist in resolving patient concerns and complaints
- Participate in preparing records for audits by ensuring all necessary documentation is accurate and readily available
- Monitor inventory levels regularly to ensure optimal stock levels and prevent shortages or overstocking; monitor expired and damaged products
- Track inventory movement and assist with inventory reconciliation processes
- Coordinate with representatives of medical offices and pharmacy contracts to ensure compliance and coordination of patient's medications
- Report product incidents as required in accordance with pharmacy policy
- Report any misconduct, suspicious or unethical activities to the Compliance Officer
- Represent the pharmacy in a professional and courteous manner in all interactions with patients
- Participate in the pharmacy's Performance Improvement program as requested by the Performance Improvement Coordinator
- Participate in surveys conducted by authorized inspection agencies
- Participate in pharmacy committees when requested
- Participate in in-service education programs provided by the pharmacy
- Pursue continuing education programs appropriate to job responsibilities and certification requirements
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate)
- A working knowledge of the community and the ability to link clients to services in the community when necessary
- Must have an active CPhT certification
- At least 1-2 years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician
- Excellent verbal communication skills with a clear and friendly phone voice
- Must be able to comfortably work with people of all lifestyles
- A working knowledge of Medical Assistance, Medicaid, Medicare and Health Choices billing regulations and systems
- Experience working with Pharmacy software
- Service Orientation - Actively looking for ways to help people
- Organizational skills sufficient to maintain consistently accurate records
- Ability to evaluate options and to make efficient decisions
- Knowledge of all applicable state and federal pharmacy laws, rules and regulations
- Proficiency with spreadsheets, MS Office, and use of the internet, as well as word processing and e-mail

Work Conditions:
- Primarily a Standing position
- Occasional stooping, reaching, bending, kneeling, crouching
