Reinsurance Accounting Senior Manager Role at AIG
At AIG, we envision a future where we help our customers manage risk more effectively. In this context, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Manager to lead our Reinsurance Accounting team.
The successful candidate will oversee the creation of regular GAAP and STAT reinsurance reporting deliverables, analyze statutory penalties and develop remediation plans, and direct a team in enhancing reporting and analytical oversight.
This role involves collaboration with internal and external stakeholders on collateral-related matters and coordination with functional teams, including Controllership, Actuarial, Reinsurance, and FP&A, to support the company's broader initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team in financial reporting activities (GAAP/STAT), focusing on quarterly and annual statutory statements, disclosures, retroactive reinsurance accounting, and deposit accounting.
- Work closely with the financial controls unit and internal/external audit on reinsurance.
- Be responsible for key reinsurance accounting processes and associated controls.
- Prioritize and address various broad and individual projects, process improvement, and transformation initiatives.
- Provide guidance and recommendations on reviewing optimal options and solutions to new and existing issues.
- Maintain visibility at departmental senior management level and interact with various levels of internal and external stakeholders.
What We're Looking For: A Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance, with an Advanced degree and/or relevant designation a plus. 6 years of experience in an insurance/reinsurance company, with extensive ceded reinsurance experience, leading and managing others, and increasing levels of responsibility in a large-scale organization.
