Make your mark in Facultative Desk
The LAC Reinsurance Facultative Desk General Manager is a key strategic leader within AIG’s Latin America and the Caribbean team. Reporting to the CEO, Latin America and the Caribbean, and as a member of the LAC Executive Committee, the LAC Facultative Desk General Manager will be responsible for the development and implementation of LAC’s Facultative Desk vision, business plan and operational structure. They will be responsible for the P&L of the operation, continued business development, growth strategies, managing the relationship with regional cedents and Reinsurance brokers, and ensuring that the required standards of governance and controls are established across the operation.
Leading a team of 30 employees across Miami and Colombia, the LAC Facultative Desk General Manager will be responsible for driving growth and profitability by writing assumed Facultative reinsurance across Latin America and the Caribbean. They externally lead AIG in the market partnering with brokers, ceding companies, and clients. As a Senior Leader, they will reach across geographical and functional boundaries to create alliances that further the organization’s objectives and market position. Their deep and broad industry knowledge allows you to foresee external conditions and opportunities that could result in transformational growth opportunities for AIG in the future.

Strategic Leadership and Management
- Drive leadership through AIG’s values through taking ownership, setting the standard, winning together, being an ally, and doing what’s right.
- Analyze market trends, competitive forces, and regulatory changes to capture Facultative Reinsurance opportunities in the LAC region.
- Lead strategic initiatives such as expanding footprint, fostering innovation and expand on relationships with our Multinational Network partners.
- Overarching accountability for all aspects of Distribution and Operations including managing a team of producing underwriters and back-office teams based in Puerto Rico and Mexico.
- Ensure a balance portfolio and mix of business with limited volatility and predictable earnings.
