Under occasional supervision, fabricates and installs road signs for County roadways. Performs related work as required. Reports to the assigned Supervisor. Designs, fabricates and installs County road signs. Repairs and/or replaces damaged signs. Transports and installs signs in proper locations. Maintains assigned vehicles, equipment and tools. Receives and reviews work orders; prepares routine forms and records as required. Attends staff and safety meetings. Performs all duties in accordance with all County policies and procedures, standards of quality and safety, and all applicable local, state and federal laws and regulations. Refers to policy and procedure manuals, computer manuals, equipment manuals, safety manual, maps, etc. Operates a truck, sign roller, drill, auger, sign plotter, computer, scanner, printer, telephone and two-way radio. Uses hand and power tools, safety gear, sign fabrication materials and supplies. Interacts and communicates with various groups and individuals such as the immediate supervisor, co-workers, other County personnel, vendors, and the general public. Answers the telephone; provides accurate information and/or forwards calls to appropriate staff person; records messages and complaints. Performs related duties as required.
