Summer Helper – Building and Grounds (Part-Time, Temporary)

JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary/Objective

Assist with various tasks to ensure the company’s buildings and grounds remain clean, safe, and well-maintained. Responsibilities include facility and fleet maintenance, landscaping, warehouse support, event setup, and general upkeep of company property.

Essential Functions

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Assist Building Maintenance Technician with cleaning and maintenance of facility maintenance.
  2. Support event staging, including setup and teardown.
  3. Assist Warehouse Technician with material storage, loading and unloading, organization and cleaning.
  4. Help Fleet Maintenance Technicians clean fleet vehicles and the truck shop.
  5. Perform landscaping duties, such as mowing, trimming, weeding and bush hogging.
  6. Maintain facility grounds by removing trash and debris.
  7. Conduct routine inspections and report maintenance issues.
  8. Ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies while promoting workplace safety and environmental best practices.
  9. Follow safety procedures and policies.
  10. Perform other duties as assigned.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions; extreme cold; extreme heat; risk of electrical shock; explosives. The noise level in the work environment is moderate.

Physical Demands

This employee is regularly required to walk or stand, and frequently required to use hands, fingers to handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Must have the ability to use hand and power tools applicable to trade, such as vacuums and other related equipment. Must be able to safely use cleaning equipment and supplies, as well as lift and manipulate heavy objects up to 50 pounds. The employee is regularly required to talk or hear.

Travel

Periodic travel to state and local destinations, as well as some interstate travel is required.

Required Qualifications

  1. High school Diploma.
  2. Must be at least 18 years old.
  3. Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting to 50 pounds, bending, standing, and working outdoors in various weather conditions.
  4. Strong work ethic, reliability and willingness to learn.
  5. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  1. Valid Driver’s License.
  2. Legally eligible to work in the United States.
