CEI Inspector
Summary of Position:
This is a CEI field position which works under supervision of the CEI Senior Inspector/Project Administrator and receives general instructions regarding assignments and is expected to exercise initiative and independent judgment in the solution of work problems. This position is for the Glades/Okeechobee/Highlands/Hardee/Polk Counties area of Florida.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Makes and checks computations required for CEI inspection/documentation of construction work.
- Inspects construction work for adherence to Construction Plans and Specifications.
- Experienced in asphalt paving, concrete placement, and earthwork. Conducts field materials & testing.
- Coordinate with Contractor field personnel during progression of construction work.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Proficient in reading and understanding construction plans and specifications.
- Exercise judgement where appropriate on the performance and acceptance of construction work and escalate issues to Senior Inspector when appropriate.
- FDOT and/or Quality Control (QC) Experience.
Minimum Preferred:
- Nuclear Radiation Safety
- CTQP Concrete Field Inspector Level I
- CTQP Asphalt Roadway Level I
- CTQP Earthwork Construction Inspection Level I
- FDOT Intermediate MOT
- ACI Concrete Level I
Education/Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent or 2 years of experience in construction inspection (CEI), two years of which shall have been in bridge and/or roadway construction inspection.
Working Conditions:
This position entails mostly field work with some inside office work.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.00 - $30.00 per hour
