Purpose: The CIC assists waiver participants who are experiencing significant problems managing the emotional responses inherent to adjusting to a significant physical or cognitive disability while living in the community.
Essential Functions:
- Provide Counseling Services as established by NHTD and TBI manuals.
- Establish a professional relationship with participants and ensure their self-directed services are provided.
- Ensure proper review and submission of all required documentation for billing.
- Attend all agency team meetings.
Education and Experience:
- Master of Social Work or;
- Master of Psychology or;
- Licensed Mental Health Practitioner – Licensed by the NYS Education Dept. or;
- Certified Rehabilitation Counselor – Certified by the Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification,
And
- Must have, at a minimum, two (2) years of experience providing adjustment-related counseling to individuals with Traumatic Brain Injury and their families and/or seniors with physical and/or cognitive disabilities and their families.
