Position Snapshot: To assist veterans with disabilities in achieving their personal goals of independence by providing education, advocacy, information, and referral.
Candidate Requirements need to include:
High school diploma with at least five years of experience
Must be a Veteran
Computer literacy: skilled with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Outlook
Candidate Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Collaborate with community stakeholders to meet the needs of veterans with disabilities and advocate for fair and equal treatment.
Peer-to-peer mentoring.
Assist veterans with disabilities and their families in navigating human services systems. This may include assistance reading and comprehending formal documents and following through with gathering information and documentation.
Educate and empower veterans with disabilities to make well-informed decisions regarding options for housing, education, employment, etc.
Recruit and coach volunteer peer mentors.
Complete data and documentation to meet quality standards.
