What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Technical Designer position at Aimé Leon Dore?
Aimé Leon Dore is looking for an Assistant Technical Designer to join our team, reporting to our Senior Director of Technical Design. This position will assist the technical design team on all categories within wovens and knits.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Partner with Technical Design Team on all TD deliverables ensuring continuous communication and adherence to the design, development and production calendar.
- Follow up sample status and schedule fittings
- Organize sample closet and digital pattern library
- Prepare fit sessions – Review and analyze samples to ensure spec and construction accuracy
- Take fit notes in fitting
- Assist in creating tech packs, specs and construction detail diagram and mockups
- Assist in TD communication with vendors/factories
- Maintain and update accuracy of tech packs
- Maintain internal WIP to ensure cross functional teams are aware of fit and approval status throughout the development process.
- Provide daily support for TD team as needed
Qualifications
- 1 year experience in Technical Design
- Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator
- Expert Proficiency in Microsoft Suite
- Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a high-volume, rapidly changing environment.
- Strong time management skills and sense of urgency
- Basic understanding of patternmaking and garment construction
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex fit adjustments to external partners effectively
- Must be organized and illustrate a keen attention to detail
Salary Range: $55,000 - $65,000
