Corporate Controller

Aimé Leon Dore is looking for a Corporate Controller to join our team in New York, New York, reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer. The Corporate Controller will lead the Accounting, Tax, and Finance functions, ensuring the company accurately and efficiently complies with and optimizes it’s accounting and tax obligations and will support the overall  organization through the timely delivery of accurate financial information that support broader decision making. The successful candidate will possess extensive accounting and leadership experience and a demonstrated ability to drive effectiveness across the organization. 

Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage and lead  the preparation of combined financial statements including the Balance Sheet, Statement of Income, Statement of Changes in Stockholders’ Equity and Statement of Cash Flows
• Oversee and execute the monthly close process and ensure it is completed in a timely manner with the proper accruals and other journal entries, bank reconciliations, fixed asset and depreciation reconciliations, reporting and account review and analysis (such as cost of goods sold, inventory, sg&a)
• Support finance team with timely monthly, quarterly and year-end financial close process
• Execute in the development and implementation of: 
  • Internal controls
  • Inventory count processes
  • Budgeting and tracking processes 
• Manage cash flow projections for valuation model
• Support leadership in completing special projects and analysis requests; serving as main point of contact within financial team to team ALD leadership
• Ensure completion of daily transactions including general accounting, bank reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, reporting,inventory control, and sale audit function 
• Prepare materials and reports for Board and executive management 
• Run ad-hoc financial reports, budgets and other analysis including project-specific profitability

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in accounting; CPA a plus; Masters degree in Business, Finance or related field preferred 
• 6-10 years of related experience in corporate accounting or bookkeeping
• Public accounting experience preferred 
• Experience in luxury retail preferred
• Proficiency with accounting software (e.g. Quickbooks) and Microsoft Excel
• In-depth knowledge of GAAP, accounting principles and procedures
• Ability to self-start, roll-up the sleeves and prioritize in a fast-paced environment 
• High degree of accuracy and keen attention to detail
• Strong oral and written communication skills 

Salary Range: $140,000- $160,000
