Job Summary: As an Entry-Level Maintenance Technician, you will support the daily operations of plant machinery, equipment, and systems, ensuring smooth operations and a safe working environment. This is a great role for individuals who are eager to learn on the job while assisting in the maintenance and repair of essential equipment in a production setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the maintenance and repair of various plant machinery and equipment (pumps, conveyors, compressors, etc.)
- Conduct routine inspections to ensure all equipment is in good working condition and address potential issues early on
- Follow all safety procedures to maintain a secure working environment for yourself and your team
- Collaborate with senior technicians to troubleshoot electromechanical issues
- Support the upkeep of dairy production systems (pasteurization, packaging equipment)
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks
- Maintain records of work completed, activities performed, and parts/inventory used
- Participate in ongoing training to enhance technical skills and knowledge
- Respond quickly to emergency maintenance requests to minimize plant downtime
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical/vocational training in industrial maintenance is a plus
- Basic mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills preferred
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Capable of working independently as well as within a team environment
- Willingness to work assigned shifts and holidays if needed
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks related to maintenance
- Previous experience in manufacturing or food processing environments is a plus but not necessary
